The woman said she could not work in front of a computer as she needed to lie in the dark but was then seen to be active on Facebook, which insurer Nationale Suisse said in a statement had destroyed its trust in the employee.
"This abuse of trust, rather than the activity on Facebook, led to the ending of the work contract," it said.
The unnamed woman told the 20 Minuten daily she had been surfing Facebook in bed on her iPhone and accused her employer of spying on her and other employees by sending a mysterious friend request which allows access to personal online activity.
Nationale Suisse rejected the accusation of spying and said the employee's Facebook activity had been stumbled across by a colleague in November, before use of the social network site was blocked in the company.

Wife faces trial over 'noisy sex'

Wife faces trial over 'noisy sex'

Monday, April 27 04:57 pm

A woman accused of tormenting her neighbours with her noisy love-making has appeared in court.

Wife faces trial over 'noisy sex'

Caroline Cartwright, 48, was remanded in custody until May 5 charged with three breaches of her Asbo in ten days.

Magistrates in Sunderland slapped her with a four-year order on April 17, banning her from "making excessive noise" anywhere in England.

But Houghton le Spring Magistrates' Court heard that police arrested her on April 18, April 22 and April 26 after neighbours complained she was flouting the ban with the help of husband Steve.

Prosecutor Claire Ward said there were complaints of early morning shouting, moaning, groaning and the sound of a bed banging against the wall. Cartwright was arrested on Sunday and charged with three counts of breaching her Asbo.

Cartwright, of Hall Road, Concord, Washington, Tyne and Wear, whose husband sat in the public gallery, elected trial by jury and her case will be transferred to Newcastle Crown Court.

A bail application from defence solicitor Peter Lothian was refused.

Cartwright was remanded in custody and ordered to appear via video link before Sunderland Magistrates' Court on May 5.

On April 17, she was convicted for five breaches of an abatement notice and fined a total of £515.

Magistrates also imposed the Asbo, banning her from making excessive noise, knocking, shouting, screaming or vocalisation that can be heard in neighbouring properties or outside the house, and playing loud music.

'DNA murderer' challenges sentence

The first person in the world to be convicted of murder on the basis of DNA evidence is challenging his sentence.

Colin Pitchfork was the first person to be convicted of murder on DNA evidence

Colin Pitchfork, now 48, who was jailed for life 20 years ago for the "heinous" murders of two schoolgirls in Leicestershire, is currently serving a minimum term of 30 years.

But Pitchfork claims the 30 years is "manifestly" excessive and wants it reduced to 20 years - meaning he would be eligible to apply for release on parole.

He was granted permission to appeal by judges in the Court of Appeal in London in December.

They ruled that his case raised "arguable" issues, but warned that they did not think the sentence would be cut when his case was heard fully by the court.

Lord Justice Stanley Burnton, sitting with two other judges, said at the time: "We do not hold out great hope to the appellant that in the end the period of 30 years, which is a substantial reduction from a whole life tariff, will be reduced by this court..."

The offences committed by Pitchfork, he said, were of the "most serious and terrible kind".

Pitchfork, a baker, was jailed at Leicester Crown Court in 1988 after pleading guilty to two offences of murder, two of rape, two offences of indecent assault and one offence of conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.

His first victim was 15-year-old Lynda Mann, of Narborough, who was murdered in 1983. Dawn Ashworth, also 15, from Enderby, was killed in 1986. Both girls were raped and strangled.

Pitchfork is challenging the setting of his tariff at 30 years last August following a review by a High Court judge.

USES OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY FOR NIGERIAN WOMEN.
I discovered that most of Nigerian women or will i used many Nigerian women are not awear of technology information or they felt that they dont need it in their daily life like other things.
I want to tell other women that information technology is important like water and air is important in our everyday life. Everything we do in life, we needs information technology to update our career and family life.We can teach our families that uses of information technology is important and uses of information technology packages like slideshow, blogger, facebook, video editing,film-making and editing your films without going to visit studio to edit it.
Nigerian women needs information technology daily because technology always changing and what we used years back are not in exist or are remould to suit us. Before women are not aware of computer but today women are adapting to change in our daily life.

HOW I WILL EMPOWER OTHER WOMEN IN I.T WORLD.
I will and must try to empower other women through my pen and my voice.I tell other women mostly in power that other women in both rural and urban areas needs them more than anything. I will tel them that the world need change like the America had taught the world and in experience2008 where Pastor Adefarati encourage all to have a change in everything we do. So women in everywhere needs change in gender difference and believe that we are equal in everything we do.If we have women pilot and women ship captain and women president like in Chile and in Africa - Liberia. We need
creativity,
inspiration,
determination,
encouragement from our fellow women
and faith in ourselves that we can make it.
We need to encourage our younger generation that they should stand up for their right and tell themselves that they can make it and that they can be like Late Lady Diana and Tina Turner -what love got to do with it.Be like Oprah, women of substances and aim at attaining their chosen career.Your hobbies and love for creativity can take you to dream world and now is the time to go higher.

first post

Hi, I’m a new blog and I write concern all about women and their problems from cradle to death. Every woman in the world went through one problem to other. Most women never saw sufferance in their lifetime but most died suffering from various problems. Women must rise up from their slumber and be like Obama’s wife. She is a wife and mother to her two daughters, always want to take them to school like before she became America black first lady.

In Nigeria, I discover that we have female president in charge in Hajia. She is a woman that knows her onion and how to slice it without crying.

In Lagos, Mrs Abimbola is a woman who never gives up on children through her NGO. Her husband change lagos from most dirty city to clean and safe environment.

It is time for women to rise up from their slumber to be WHO God make them to be.
